About The Glad Sound

Produced by Zac Hicks & engineered by Gary Welker at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church in Denver, CO.
Mixed and mastered by Josh Davis (www.joshdavisrecording.com) in Charlotte, NC.

The Glad Sound is a simultaneously aggressive and introspective pop/rock/indie modern worship project produced by Zac Hicks and the musicians of Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church.  Each track is a setting of texts from the church’s past, written by men and women centuries ago.  The Glad Sound provides new melodies and modern instrumentation to these ancient hymns.  Every song on the album is written to be accessible for congregational singing, yet The Glad Sound remains inspiring as a whole for anyone who simply wants to enjoy a solid modern worship album.

The phrase “The Glad Sound” comes from the title track’s opening line:

Hark, the glad sound!  the Savior comes,
The Savior promised long.
Let every heart prepare a throne
For Him to reign upon.
